Louis is a serial entrepreneur who has co-founded, launched and sold several successful companies over the past 25 years. Currently, Chairman of Gopher Leads, Louis began his career as an entrepreneur in 1990 when he co-founded Turtle Island Recycling, working out of his parent’s garage in Scarborough, Ontario — using a 1980 K-car as the first collection truck. Louis grew the company to $100 million in annual revenues, employing over 500 people. He successfully navigated the sale of the business in December 2011. Today in addition to serving as Chairman of Gopher Leads, Louis is an investor in several companies in cleantech, sustainability and in general, trends that disrupt traditional business models.
Louis’ current focus on Gopher Leads reflects his personal business experience and belief that a company’s most valuable asset is its frontline employees. The customer-facing staff who can make or break a business. According to Louis, “Gopher Leads aims to harness the frontline’s awesome knowledge of their customers to transform them into highly-valued, fanatical revenue-generating employees.” In the process, Gopher Leads aims to strengthen the relationship between the frontline and operations — allowing both to participate in a shared victory of acquiring a new customer.
